this was the view upon entering highgate station that i’ve had all spring. lovely. and very unexpected and soothing to a countrygirl like me.

i woke up to this, this morning. super happy yellow courgette flowers peeking at me from the garden. totally the best start ever to what has been an ace day. i had my observation at work today. melanie, my external observer, is really nice and just kept writing how quickly i was powering through things and how enthusiastic i am. it’s always nice to get an affirmation of one’s behaviour, and she said it was a great observation. apparently i was due to finish this apprenticeship in november, but like, i’m basically done now. so happy about how quickly things are coming together.

i’m cycling to and from work every shift these days, and it’s so fun watching the village whizz by in the mornings, and so satisfying getting home after riding up the hill and sitting down with a cup of tea to plan the rest of my day.

i got home today to a cute present from m mum, who has an addiction to tv shopping bargains but very discerning taste. the softest black pair of faux suede ballet flats, for work. it was a total surprise, and they are real beauties. i seem to be amassing a collection of unusual black flats that would have made ms. chanel jealous, which is kind of out of character for me given my penchant for colour and heels, but i guess if i’ve got to wear them for work i may as well at least make sure i’m wearing seriously stylish ones.

i’m feeling so good this week. life seems to be following the logical plan of work hard: receive payoff, at the moment, and nice things keep happening to me and i can’t get rid of the smile on my face. it’s two sleeps til i go and see ed, which i think is massively helping to keep me excited. i know i keep banging on about it and you’re probably all like, god, shut UP, but i can’t help it man, he makes me happy.

my broad beans are starting to flower. the reason why they look like they’ve got freckles (aww) is cos they’re climbing up ther poles on a fence my neighbours painted. now that i’ve seen broad beans grow i think jack’s beanstalk MUST have been a broad bean plant.
